      Where are you from and how did you come to practice in Anchorage?     Where are you from and how did you come to practice in Anchorage? I am originally from the Wichita, KS region. In May 2018, I completed my clinical doctorate and wanted to work for Indian Health Service.     Improving Communication in the Era of Face Masks

    Wearing face masks helps prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, but for people with hearing loss, they pose communications challenges. This includes muffled speech, the inability to read lips, and difficulty wearing masks for people who use behind-the-ear hearing aids.     Even though hearing loss has been associated with concentration and memory problems, along with depression, a significant number of Americans rarely get their hearing tested. Hearing difficulties take a toll on personal relationships with family, friends, and co-workers and possibly may be linked to dementia.
