Hearing

Alaska Center for Ear, Nose and Throat is the first ENT practice in Anchorage to offer audiology services on-site. At Hearing at ACENT, we specialize in the measurement and diagnosis of hearing loss for adults and children. We take the time to thoroughly explain the hearing evaluation results, the diagnosis, and next steps, to the patient and to concerned family members.

If you are concerned about hearing loss in yourself or a loved one, request an appointment online, or call our office at (907) 279-8800 and a member of our staff will help schedule an appointment.

Hearing Loss

When evaluating hearing loss, we usually look at 3 categories: type of hearing loss, degree of hearing loss, and configuration of hearing loss.

It is especially important to diagnose and treat hearing loss in children as soon as possible to limit its potential impact on learning and development. Unmanaged hearing loss in adults can have a detrimental effect on one's quality of life, possibly affecting employment, education, and social interactions. Patients diagnosed with deafness or severe hearing loss from a damaged cochlea may be candidates for cochlear implant surgery.

We also specialize in fitting of all types of hearing instruments and use state-of-the-art verification for these fittings. Visit the following pages to learn more.
